Construction on the new DeSoto High School continues to make significant progress, with major milestones completed and work advancing across the campus. Exterior construction is now complete, including finished stairways, Building A, paved bus loop, and access roads. The project team is preparing to begin Phase 3: Interior Build-Out in July 2026, bringing the district one step closer to opening a state-of-the-art learning environment for our students.
Current work includes finalizing parking areas and completing underground mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout Buildings A, B, and C. The new campus will feature:
161,502 square feet of innovative learning space
1,379 student stations
Modern classrooms and collaborative learning environments
A new auditorium, gymnasium, agricultural education facility, greenhouse, cafeteria, outdoor athletic courts, and courtyard
Dedicated spaces designed to support academics, career and technical education, athletics, and the arts
Construction began in August 2025, with the project remaining on track for occupancy in June 2027. The School District of DeSoto County is excited to watch this transformational project take shape as we continue investing in the future of our students and community.
We are #OneDeSoto, all for kids.
