Absence Notes
Parents should call the front office to let the school know that their student will be absent. A Written Excuse from the Parent, Dr. Note, or other Welfare documentation must be sent to Attendance upon the student's return to school.
Failure to provide an excuse note will result in an unexcused absence.
Absences may be Excused for:
- Illness of student
- Documented serious illness of immediate family (Parents, Grandparents, Siblings)
- Provide written excuse request for Principal approval
- Medical Appointments, with return of Dr. Note
- School Closing dates as determined and posted by the School District (will be found on District Website @ www.desotoschools.com)
- Religious holiday/training of student's specific faith,
- Provide written excuse request for Principal approval
- Documented Death in immediate family (Parents, Grandparents, Siblings)
- Provide copy of Memorial Program from Funeral
- (See Section entitled "LICE" for further allowances)
Absences may be Unexcused for:
- Trips with parents not authorized by principal's approval at least three (3) days in advance.
- Missing School Bus due to poor time management
- Staying home other than on "school closed" dates
- Failing to provide an Excuse Note
